Electric Gate Installation
Fence Max Texas manufactures and installs electric driveway gates for residential and commercial properties across Dallas–Fort Worth. Swing and slide gates are built in wood or iron, fitted with an automatic opener, safety devices and two remote controls, and installed by our own crews.
Enhance your property's beauty and security with an electric gate for your driveway, equipped with an automatic gate opener. Fence Max Texas manufactures and installs a variety of electric gates for both commercial and residential applications.
An automated gate is really two projects in one: a gate that is engineered to move thousands of times, and the electrical and control work behind it. We handle both, so responsibility for how the finished gate operates sits in one place.
Our Dallas electric gate crews focus on giving you the best quality work you can find in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, from the concrete and conduit through to programming the remotes.

Texas weather
Heat, humidity and lightning are the three things that shorten the life of gate automation in North Texas. Control boards live in an enclosure that has to shed water and vent heat, and driveway loops and conduit have to survive soil movement. We install with those realities in mind rather than treating the opener as an accessory bolted on at the end.
Maintenance
Keep the track or hinge points clean and clear, replace remote batteries before they die completely, and have the safety devices tested periodically. If the gate starts to hesitate or reverse without an obstruction, that is usually a safety-eye alignment issue and should be looked at before it becomes an opener failure.
FAQ
Common questions
- Swing gate or slide gate — which do I need?
- Swing gates need clear space to open into the property and a driveway that is relatively level at the opening. Slide gates work where the driveway slopes or there is no room to swing, but they need clear side room to retract into.
- What happens during a power outage?
- Automatic openers include a manual release so the gate can be operated by hand. Battery backup is available on most systems.
- Can you automate my existing gate?
- Sometimes. It depends on whether the existing gate and posts can carry the load and cycle count. We will tell you honestly during the site visit whether automating it is a good idea or whether the gate should be rebuilt.
- What safety equipment is included?
- Automated gates are installed with the safety devices appropriate to the configuration, such as photo eyes and reversing sensors, so the gate stops if something is in its path.
- Do you install keypads and intercoms?
- Yes. Keypads, remotes, intercoms and other access control options can be included in the design.
- How much power does an electric gate need?
- Most residential openers run on standard household power brought to the gate in conduit. Where that is impractical, solar systems are an option. The site visit determines which route is realistic for your driveway.
